New Delhi, Agency. Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Mulayam Singh Yadav breathed his last at 8:16 am today (October 10) at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. His son Akhilesh Yadav gave this information by tweeting. The condition of the SP leader was critical for the last few days. Born on November 22, 1939, Mulayam Singh Yadav was one of the most prominent leaders of Uttar Pradesh, who served as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh thrice and also as the Defense Minister in the Central Government. He was elected MLA 10 times and Lok Sabha MP 7 times.

Expressing grief over the death of veteran politician Mulayam Singh Yadav, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said that an era of struggle and socialism has come to an end in the country. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also announced three days of state mourning and said the veteran leader’s last rites would be performed with full state honours.
